I know that the Sun is the closest star to Earth and that it is only one of trillions of stars in space.Do you know what the second closest star to Earth is and if it has any effect on the Sun or any other planets?

The next closest is Proxima Centauri. It is so far (4.2 light years) that it doesn't influence our Solar system.
