    how do you know stonehenge was used for astronomy? did it also study the sun?

    Hi Kimmy,

    Thanks for your interesting question about the Stonehenge!  Investigation of the Stonehenge during the past century has shown that the stones are "markers" for astronomical events such as the summer and winter solstices (occurs in June and December respectively) as well as eclipse events.  I do not know if the Stonehenge was ever used to study the Sun - hopefully another scientist can help you with that question.
