    Re: christmas star

Hi Nicole, Many people have tried to give an astronomical explanation for the Christmas star or the star of Bethlehem, but it is hard to figure out what really happened so long time ago when no systematic astronomical observations were available. It has been speculated that the Christmas star might have been a supernova, comet or crowding together of the planets (called also conjunction). All these phenomena can be seen as very bright objects in the sky.
