When was the first sunspot observed, and photographed?

    Re: sunspots

    Hi!

Galileo was the first one to observe sunspots using a telescope. I believe the first photograph showing sunspots was taken in 1845 by Leon Foucault and Armand Fizeau -- this was a daguerrotype.

    Sarah
