     Hi Christina,

I presume you mean a solar powered telephone.  This is just a telephone that uses sunlight and solar panels to provide electrical power rather than batteries or  mains power.  Any spacecraft that go anywhere near the Sun use radiowaves to communicate with the Earth.  Astronauts in the space station also use raio waves to talk to us here on the ground.

    Hi Christina,

Dave's right about the use of solar energy on the phone. Did you know you can even cook using solar energy?

This is just but one of many you'll find, and perhaps a neat project! Enjoy.
